Privacy: what this test sends and stores
Connection testing necessarily creates network requests. This page separates what stays in your browser from what reaches Cloudflare infrastructure.
What Connection Vitals stores
Connection Vitals V2.2 does not maintain a server-side database of your test results. Up to eight recent result summaries are stored in your browser's localStorage so the before/after comparison works. You can clear that history from the test page or by clearing site data in your browser.
Measurement traffic
The current test uses the open-source Cloudflare Speedtest measurement engine and makes download, upload and zero-byte latency requests to Cloudflare's public speed measurement endpoints. Those HTTP requests necessarily reach Cloudflare and include normal network metadata such as your source IP address. Cloudflare's own policies govern data processed by its infrastructure.
In our engine configuration, logMeasurementApiUrl and logAimApiUrl are set to null. This disables those dedicated result-logging calls in our build; it does not make the underlying measurement requests anonymous.
Network label
Our Cloudflare Pages Worker can read Cloudflare request metadata such as ASN, network organization, country and Cloudflare data-center code and return that context to the browser. Connection Vitals V2.2 does not persist that response in a database.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This release does not include Google Analytics or AdSense code. Before either is enabled, this policy and the site's consent implementation must be updated to reflect the services actually in use and the requirements applicable to the visitor.
Local comparison history
The before/after feature is designed to work without an account. Test summaries are kept locally and are not synchronized between devices.
